Lily had a stellar career as a top show bitch and her
quality has been recognised by International Labrador Specialists.
A highlight of her career was when she was awarded Best in Show at the 2007
Labrador Retriever Club of Victoria by Mrs Sian Ellis UK (Dolwen Labradors).
Mrs Ellis said "What a lovely feminine bitch, so well balanced, kind head & melting expression. Clean neck, short coupled body with well sprung ribs.
Lovely turn of stifle, good bone, tight feet, carrying correct amount of weight.
Moved with drive and purpose".
In 2008 at the Labrador Retriever Club of South Australia she was awarded Best Opposite Intermediate in Show by Mrs Kendall Herr (Dickendall Labradors) USA.
In May 2009 she was Runner up to Best in Show at the Labrador Retriever Club
of South Australia Championship Show under Mrs.Margaret Brown (Ramsayville Labradors) Scotland.
Mrs.Brown said " Definitely fulfils the picture I have in my mind of the standard, short coupled, broad and deep through the chest and ribs, broad & strong over loins and hindquarters, she was in fullbloom, has the loveliest of heads, very feminine with defined stop & well developed nostrils, an intelligent expression with correct eye colour and ear set, she has lovely round bone right down to her pasterns, her overall construction is superb with clean strong neck and long sloping shoulders, she is short coupled but with enough length of body to give her balance, well sprung barrel ribs and excellent depth and width of chest, she has well turned stifles and is strong and well developed over the quarters, her coat is dense and of the correct texture and to finish she has a good otter tail, on the move she covers the ground well with good unexaggerated extension in front and sound action behind, she has plenty of scope and the correct length of leg to body proportions, in a show dog she has that indescribable “something” which makes her special, I was absolutely delighted to be able to award her the Challenge Bitch, she pushed a stunning bitch into second place on her strong and positive movement".
Lily worked with Hugh in the NSW Governments Responsible Pet Education Program in Primary & Pre Schools.
Sadly Lily passed away in December 2018 at 14 years of age
